I first started doing ceramics back in first grade. I didn’t think much of it then, it didn’t quite spark the same fascination and interest as it does now.  I fell in love with clay my sophomore year of high school, the feeling of the clay in my hands made me think of being a kid and messing around in the mud when my mom would water the yard.  I fell in love with the idea of making something that I could use everyday and that could last years. Years of drinking water from a blue porcelain cup or a years of eating cereal out of a neon red bowl sounds pretty great to me.  Also, the idea that I could give or sell that handmade cup or bowl to someone and spread the same enjoyment is satisfying. Ceramics has become a big part of my life and I am proud to say that I am well on my way of buying my own kiln and wheel, so I can make more and enjoy more of this awesome world of clay.
